Reflection

We have learn so many things during the EPD session. We have learn about group dynamics, group responsibilities and others that related to individual and groups.

There are several tasks that we will need to complete as a group. The task that I remember is that, we as a group, need to create a survival tools from a piece of A4 paper and use our own creativity. Each group consists of 5-6 members and each group must create at least 6 survival tools. The scenario is that we have stranded on an Island that doesn't have local people. Our group creates a fold knife, an axes, a spear, a fishing rod, a pail, a helmet and a sound alarm device. The fold knife will be use as a knife that can cut fruits so that we can eat it with the same portion as others and cut fish and animals so that we can cook the fish correctly. The axes will be use as a weapon or as tools that can help to collect firewoods. The spear is used as a weapon or as tools that can help us hunt animals within the woods for us to eat. The fishing rod will use as tools for fishing, obviously. The pail will be use to transport water or to fill the fish in it. Helmet will be use when go hunting the animals in the woods, we didn't know what will happen, so safety first. Last item is the sound alarm device. This will use when the team members split up to do works, for example, one members go hunting and another one stay at the camp site to stand guard. If there are something wrong happen, the members that having problem can use the sound alarm device to call other team members so that the other members can provide help.

The moral is, we need to discuss as a team and create a specific item that can help all of us if we are about to be stranded in Island without any people.

Another group task that I remember is that, we as a group, need to complete several tasks in order to win. In this task, we are about to compete with other groups. The first task is that we need to settle a picture puzzle before we can proceed with another task. Once we have done with the first task, we are assign with the second task which is we should give 6 name that related to Information Communication Technology using the first letter of the image in the puzzle. The picture puzzle is a penguin and we should search for a name that related to Information Communication Technology that start with letter P. I didn't remember the name that we have choose with letter P. Once we have done with the second task, we are assign with the third task, which is we have to create a story based on the 6 name that start with letter P that has been chosen. We lose this competition, but we do learn great things.

The moral is, we should not blame anyone if the groups are not working well. We should evaluate ourselves first and connect the reason why the groups performance is like that with your own evaluation.
